    2 min read

    Disclaimer!

FPGA board is an Electrostatic Sensitive Device! Please follow a proper handling procedures or you might damage the board. The procedure is provided in the installation guide book.

Also, running a bitstream beyond what your hardware is capable of cooling or supporting can result in TOTAL FAILURE of your hardware within minutes. It is your responsibility to understand the limitations of your hardware (passive vs active fan vs water cooling, required mods, etc).

    Hardware Installation

    cvp-13-install

    1. Power down your PC
    2. Install the CVP in an available x16 PCIe slot
    3. Connect the micro USB to USB cable
    4. Connect two 8-pin external power connectors on the CVP-13
    5. Install the water cooling system
    6. Test to run the water for more than 3 hours to check for leaking. Do not turn on the CVP-13 and the PC
    7. Power on the PC

How to Use BittWorks II Toolkit LITE

BittWorks II Toolkit LITE is used for monitoring the CVP-13 and changing the core voltage.

    Windows (Toolkit LITE version)

    1. Get BittWorks II Toolkit LITE from the retailers (fpga.guide is also the official CVP-13 retailer)
    2. Download the Windows Toolkit LITE and install it on your Windows machine
    3. Once it's installed, open BittWare Board Monitor. (Might need reboot)
    4. Connect your CVP-13. There are two options. You can connect via HIL Device or via Serial Port bwtk-connect
    5. Once you're connected, you can monitor your CVP-13 status bwtk-monitor

    Changing the voltage

    1. Right click on the FPGA chip then click Modify Core Voltage Override. bwtk-volt-1
    2. Tick "Override FPGA Core Voltage" then set the voltage (we recommend to use voltage settings from 0.65V to 0.9V) bwtk-volt

    Linux (Toolkit LITE version)

    1. Get BittWorks II Toolkit LITE from the retailers (fpga.guide is also the official CVP-13 retailer)
    2. Download the Linux Toolkit LITE
    3. Open terminal and go to the directory where the downloaded file is
    4. Run sudo dpkg -i bwtk-*. The file name depends on the version.
    5. After that installed, log out and log in again.
    6. Check the installation with echo $BWTK if the command prints a path then the installation was successful.
    7. Do cd $BWTK and open the tool you want to use.

    Software Setup

You can use Windows for Whitefire and Dedmaroz's bitstream or Linux for Allmine's bitstream. Guides here:
